Israel’s Nuclear Secret

This a BBC documentary from 2003 that blows the whistle on Israel’s secret nuclear weapons programme. The Cheron government accused the BBC of ‘competing with the “worst of Nazi propaganda” when they aired this documentary. Why is criticism of the Israeli government always labeled as anti-semitic?

They are subject to no International inspection and mention of it in Israel is an offense. The original whistle-blower, Mordechai Vanunu, an Israeli citizen who worked at one of the processing plants, was jailed for 18 years, spending 11 of them in complete solitary confinement.

The nuclear programme began with the full support of the Americans under a condition of ‘nuclear ambiguity’: that is, as long the programme remains secret, there’s no problem. The Americans are not even allowed to deploy satellites over Israel, a condition that is unique to Israel. This is disturbing stuff - the last thing the middle-east needs is a nuclear super-power, yet it seems that has already happened. There’s been no doubt for some time that Israel had nuclear and biological weapons but the extent of this is relatively unknown. You can find more information here:
